My name is Megan Coffinbargar and I am the Project Manager for the Optimizing Virtual Care Grant at Community Health Center, Inc. (CHCI). In March of 2022, HRSA awarded CHCI with the Optimizing Virtual Care Grant. As one of only 29 organizations throughout the country receiving this award, our team plans to address one of the most pressing needs to arise from the pandemic: additional support for patients’ behavioral health (including substance use disorder) across their lifespans. I work in tandem with clinical and administrative leaders to create and innovate with new models of virtual care that advance access and impact health outcomes with a particular focus on behavioral health services.
Prior to starting in my project management role, I was the 2021-2022 Community Health Center, Inc. Administrative Fellow. I am fairly new to Connecticut and moved here from the Chicago suburbs in the summer of 2021. I graduated from the University of Kentucky cum laude with a degree in Health, Society, and Populations and completed a subsequent master’s program in Health Administration at the University of Illinois Chicago, receiving two named scholarships. While in graduate school, I simultaneously worked as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens and as an Administrative Intern at Advocate Aurora Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois. I enjoy travelling, cooking, kickboxing, and hiking!
