Dr. Andrew J. Smith’s experience pertains to student support and development, as well as educational management and leadership. His career began in the post-secondary setting where he served as Assistant Director for The School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Southern Connecticut State University, in which he successfully developed and oversaw a centralized student support model aimed at enrollment management and student affairs practices. After several years serving in this role, he took on the role of Program Chair for the Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership degree at Post University. He values the opportunity to oversee such a program and work with instructors and administration alike through collaborate efforts aimed at student success. Most recently, he established a doctoral pathway for graduates of his program as well as partnered with professional development agencies to offer micro-credential opportunities for students.
The blend of professional experiences focusing on the educational environment has provided Andrew the opportunity to present and lecture throughout New England on the concepts of leadership and leadership development, as well as publish a series of articles and chapters around change strategies and contingency planning.
Andrew completed both his undergraduate and graduate work at Southern Connecticut State University. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, masters in business administration and doctorate in educational leadership. He is also a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society and advisor of the Alpha Chi Honor Society.
